SSCC # 43 and a Father's Day card!!

Good Morning!!  It's a great day here in Washington, it's going to be a nice, sunny day.  Today is the start of another challenge at Stampin Sisters in Christ.  I do hope you can come over and join in the fun.  Our hostess for this week is the super talented Lisa Hjulberg.  Here is the verse she chose...

2 Timothy 1-6 "You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs--he wants to please his commanding officer. Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor's crown unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops."

The challenge is to make a Father's Day card/project... or just a masculine card

Great challenge with Father's Day being just one week away.  So get out those "GUY" stamps or masculine ones and get busy.  I've already got my FIL's card made, now I just need one for my Dad and my DH.

Our sponsor this week is none other than Simon Says Stamp.  They have been sponsoring us monthly and we so appreciate it.  Thank you!!  If you haven't been to the store, you must go and take a look around.  They have over 100,000 items in stock to meet your needs.

For my card, I used an image from Karen's Doodles.  She has several 'guy'  images available and this is just one of them.  It's called "It's your day".  I used my nesties to offset the image.  I used my copics to color it and then added some buttons and ribbon to seperate the 2 different dp's.  This card is for my FIL, and I know he'll enjoy it.   Now go take a look at what the other DT have created over at SSCC.   Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great week ahead=)

Designed 2 Delight Dragonfly Collage

Hello everyone!!  I have a card here that I made for the Designed 2 Delight progressive challenge.  Each week there is a new freebie for those who played in the previous week.   This week was this pretty dragonfly collage.  It's so cute!!  Thanks Faith.   I colored it in using my copics,  just got some and I love them.  I also used dp from the new DCWV stack called "Summer Dream"  and then used 2 of my nesties.  I added some pearls up in the corner.

I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch for my card.  Here is the sketch.

My sister, Kristine, and I often have our own 'sister' challenges.  So we both used the same image and different sketches.  Hop on over to her blog to see what a gorgeous card she has made.   Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful week:)

SSCC #40 Isaiah 64:6

Happy Sunday!  What a great day to be here:)  Today starts another weekly challenge over at Stampin Sisters In Christ.  Our hostess for this week is the wonderfully talented Peggysue.  Here is the verse that Peggysue chose for this challenge...

Isaiah 64:6 KJV "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

The challenge for us is to use distressing or sponge the edges of your project, any chosen technique to give it a vintage or distressed look.

Our sponsor this week is Unity Stamp Co.  Here's the stamp set they will be donating..

Isn't this a gorgeous set?   I love it!  One of you can win this set by entering in our challenge.  You have until next Saturday night, May 29.  Wow!  It's almost the end of May already!  This year is flying by.

For my card, I used the Princess La La, from La La land,  and made up my own sketch.  The dp I used is from my stash and so is the lace.  I added some stickles to her crown and belt and added a diamond as her necklace.  It's hard to see, but the edges of the dp are distressed.  I've always wondered what tools are being used to accomplish this look.  My tool of choice is the seam ripper.  What's your's?  I'd love to know:)  I have entered this card in the La La Land challenge for this week and that is to make a Birthday Card

Don't forget to stop by the SSCC blog to see what the other DT Sisters have made.  You'll be inspired for sure.  Thanks for stopping by, have a great week:)

Let's Get Scrappy with Soft Hues, Flowers and Ribbon!!

Good Afternoon!!  I have a card here that I made for 2 challenges.  The first one is for La La Land Challenge # 34.  The challenge for us is to use SCRAPSAnything we have laying around.  Maybe on our craft tables or piled up in bins and boxes.  For my card, I used scraps leftover from the card to make my flower and a little scrap piece of ribbon.  The dp is from K&Co. called 'hopscotch'.  Very pretty and soft colors in that stack.
Also, one player will WIN a $10 Credit towards any rubber stamps of your choice in the La-La Land Crafts store!!  Oh ya, you simply must  go over and take a look at the new releases.  They are so adorable:)

The 2nd challenge is for the Tuesday Morning Sketches #41.  Melissa has a recipe for us to follow this week instead of a sketch.  The recipe is....Soft hues, flowers, and ribbon.  Easy enough.  I used some soft pink ribbon and made my flower using the SU flower punch with 2 buttons in the center.  One lucky winner will win 3-5 images from Doodle Palace and they have some real cute images over there.  Isn't that great!!  Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Have a great week:)

SSCC # 34 Philippians 4:4-7

Happy Sunday!! Today we have another scripture inspired challenge over at Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge blog. I do hope you'll hop on over and possibly participate in our challenges. We have a great sponsor this week, it is Simon Says Stamp. They have been graciously sponsoring us once a month and we thank them for their generosity. One of our lucky players will have a chance to win a wonderful stamp set called "You make the flowers Smile"
Thank you so much!!

Our hostess this week is our lovely DT sister Lisa Hjulberg.

The Scripture Lisa chose for this week is...Philippians 4:4-7 "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, wihch transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

The challenge for us is to Make a card/project about prayer and/or peace. I can't wait to see what you can do with this challenge. Thanks Lisa!!

For my card, I purchased the scripture from SNSS. The dp I used is from K&Co called Ancestry. Very pretty and vintagey. I added some lace and a butterfly charm. Some pearls set off the corners quite well and the ribbon flower and leaves too.

Now stop on by the SSCC blog and see what the other DT has for inspiration:) Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful week!!
